Located in the Chihuahuan Desert of southern New Mexico, Carlsbad Caverns features a collection of more than 119 caves formed by sulfuric acid dissolving limestone. The park's showstopper is the Carlsbad Cavern, a natural limestone chamber that is one of the largest in the world.
